Keepin' Up With The Co-op - September 2022

Welcome Back Students!

September is back and so are the students! Welcome back to all our FBC Student Members and good luck this semester! If you ever need a study break, come join us!

Check out what we have going on for students this semester:

4-Month Student Pass

If it's been a minute since you've been in to climb, come see us at the front desk and take advantage of our 4-Month Student Pass! This pass is designed with FBC Student Members in mind, pre-pay until December and save!

Just show us your valid student ID and you won't need to worry about your pass expiring this fall and you can save up to $40 a semester!

Student Night Saturday

Starting this month, we will have a Saturday night each month where we invite students to join us during evening drop-in! This is a great opportunity for you to bring your friends into the facility and give them an opportunity to try climbing in a safe and encouraging environment - and at a reduced rate! After 5:30pm on these Student Night Saturdays, students can drop in and get a shoe rental for $15!

Programs Are Back In Session

The fall session of our Youth Skills Programs will begin on Monday, September 12th!

You'll notice our pre-competitive team training on Monday and Thursday evenings 6pm - 7:30pm.

Our Youth team will be in on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:45pm - 9pm (subject to change).

You can also expect to see lots of little climbers aged 5 - 12 on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:45pm - 8pm. Please remember to share the space if you choose to drop in during these times!

Afterschool Camp is set to resume on August 6 and we will return to our regular drop in hours (see below in Drop In Hours section).


Training and Wellness Classes

Beginning September 14: Core for Climbers - Pilates with Samantha Shea Join us every other Wednesday evening 6pm-6:45pm, starting September 14 for a climbing-inspired, pilates-based class. This class, facilitated by Samantha Shea, is a specialized Pilates Fusion class that focuses on building total body strength, stability, and mobility for anyone wanting to improve their climbing skills & resiliency. This class will help to reduce muscle tension and soreness, as well as reduce the risk of injury while climbing. Pre-registration is required online at FBC Members can join this class for $15, and non-members for $21.75. Full Class Schedule: September 14, 28 October 12, 26 November 9, 23 December 7, 21

Beginning September 25: Guided Yoga with Courtney Mollins-Bidlake Start your Sunday off right and join Courtney for a guided yoga session. These sessions will take place on the fourth Sunday of the month at 10:30am, beginning September 25. All skill levels welcome! Yoga mats will be available, but feel free to bring your own. *Updated information* Pre-registration will be required. These sessions will be free for FBC members, and $5 for non-members. GTFO Sponsored Womxn's Climb: Making a comeback in October - GTFO and FBC will be partnering back up for Saturday Morning Womxn'sClimb!

Join us on the second Saturday of the month during Womxn's Climb at no cost to you! Spots and shoe rentals are sponsored by GTFO. We will have an instructor present to answer all your climbing questions and help guide beginners.

Pre-registration will be required for these sessions. Booking information will be available on our website in the coming weeks.
