Job Brief

Join our team and work in a rock climbing facility constructed in 2019! Fredericton Bouldering Co-op (FBC) is a grassroots organization in the heart of Fredericton created to foster the local climbing community. We are looking for enthusiastic staff to oversee our day-to-day operations. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing a welcoming environment for kids and adults alike, while working alongside a support team of volunteers.


Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in customer service using a computer POS

  • Indoor or outdoor bouldering/climbing experience is considered an asset.

  • Must be capable of physically or verbally demonstrating falling techniques and orienting participants

  • Up-to-date criminal record check.

  • First aid/CPR training will be provided/subsidized if necessary.


Responsibilities

  • Answers directly to the Operations Manager, as well as the Executive Director.

  • Greets customers and helps facilitate their payment and orientation

  • Implement daily cleaning procedures alongside co-workers, and volunteers

  • Physically capable of climbing up and down stairs and ladders for cleaning operations

  • Be the point of contact for deliveries, acquire the knowledge to address all facility related inquiries

  • Be confident in cafe and bar operations such as serving, handling cash, food safety and preparedness

  • Supervise volunteers

  • Aid with additional facility events and tasks as necessary.

  • Opening and closing of the facility, including cashing-in and out, and accompanying procedures

  • Be able to problem-solve in unanticipated situations.

  • Competently complete necessary paperwork including incident reports, timesheets

  • Work effectively amongst a diverse group of staff, children and gym patrons.

  • Part-time. Weekend days, typically 8am-4pm*. Subject to change.
